Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

What’s the difference between SEO and SEM?

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a term that encapsulates Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), paid placement (i.e. PPC such as Google Adwords), contextual advertising (targeted advertisements) and paid inclusion within search engine Indexes.

Search engine marketing (or search marketing) can be an excellent way of increasing your website visibility. PPC campaigns (Pay Per Click) for example, such as Google Adwords can be used to “qualify” what the searcher is looking for ensuring that your advert is only shown to the users entering in the relevant search terms.
